Pumpkin Graveyard - Day 20

In all the years of doing the Pumpkin Graveyard I have not seen pumpkins hold up this nicely after three weeks.

Vacation is here! Off to the desert refuge..
I am bringing my skull for photos but won't likely post here until I return.
Until then here's a spooky pic of Skillet enjoying the spooky leaves of November..

Skillet was having a blast trampling the huge pile of yellow and red fall leaves..

The Horrific Faces of Tom Bagley

What a cool, colorful set of the faces of old late-night, oddball, horror favorites. I really love every one of these and I sure hope Tom fills out the set with many more!

More outstanding Tom Bagley art..

"Roger Engel" aka Zandor Vorkov

"John Bloom" aka Frankenstein

"A Drop of Water"

"Billy The Kid vs John Carradine" aka The Count

Pumpkin Graveyard 2012 - Day 6

Surprisingly spry and alert after nearly a week at the old guard post

November Jack

It was too tough to move on from Halloween this year so when our faithful "inside" pumpkin plummeted into moldy, saggy mess we opted to pick up a few new pumpkins at the local stand...

Night Creatures

Day 4 of the Pumpkin Graveyard was a very creepy night visit.
Driving off-road through the woods in rural Tennessee in pitch black is an experience..

Happy EEE-lection Day!

We know the score..

The Skyland Drive In

A little video I put together this time last year. I do not know of another example of pictures added to the old Skyland Drive In audio bits. Features a special version of The Creeping Cruds - Get Up and Kill.
Damn my tinnitus for making me not able to make more of these for a while..

The Evil Dead Cabin

Take a last look at pics from my website before it's updated with new Deadite/Evil Pumpkin details etc. As always, Evil Dead Dirt vials are FOR SALE.

The Evil Dead Cabin as it looked just prior to filming

A genuinely creepy vibe overtakes you entering the property..

Pumpkin Graveyard 2012 - Day 1

28 of the 29 pumpkins made it to the graveyard this year. One jumped ship on the way and embarked on his own journey.

Sadly, the cold withering of this year's pumpkin leaves revealed approximately
20 baby pumpkins that will suffer a frosty demise. The summer was just too hot...

And Red Leaves Blew....

This sequence of photos was taken from our back deck on the last day of Spooky's Haunted Yard.
The storm rolled in so quickly that I couldn't make it out front to secure stuff. Fortunately it was over as quickly as it came.

The deck view is always outstanding for storm watching
as you can see above the valley for several miles

The storm rolled in in about 3 minutes

And the winds exploded into a vortex of autumn leaves!

Witches Gather...

PumpkinRot delivers again - even after taking a punch in the gut from Frankenstorm 2012. I acknowledge that PR is my go-to source for unending, year-round Halloween visuals.. Look closely at the tree stump caldron. It's pure hand-made Hallowayoutness!

ALL SOULS DAY - November 2, 2012

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor, And the highwayman came riding— Riding—riding— The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.

Pumpkins held up nicely for Night 3 as did the still weather. The one pic I'll post from All Souls Day..

SAMHAIN - November 1st 2012

"It was the start of the year in our old Celtic lands, and we'd be waiting... in our houses of wattles and clay. The barriers would be down, you see, between the real and the unreal, and the dead might be looking in... to sit by our fires of turf." -  Cochrane

The second night some placements were changed and some lighting swapped out - for a more orange overall look. The 6" blanket of red and yellow leaves did not survive the first night's crunching so they were cleaned out for Samhain..

HALLOWEEN - October 31, 2012

"You can get back in there and get back on that telephone and tell them exactly who walked out of here last night and tell them exactly where he's going." - Loomis

Halloween 2012 could very well have been a dreary, over-windy, soak-athon due to Frankenstorm but just at the right time the winds died and the candles were lit. A perfect evening of flickering jack-o-lanterns, green and orange mists, crunching leaves and bewildered kids, surprised at what vision they would find as they climbed the hill and broke through the trees to see Spooky's Haunted Yard.
The only difficulty was choosing the coolest photos.. For every one here, there are half a dozen unposted..
Enjoy Halloween Oct 31 2012 - Franklin, TN

How many ghouls can you find in the fog? This photo is completely unedited.
The Green Ghoul returns!

Look closely at the fog - ghouls in the mist!

It doesn't hurt to have a cool, gothic door with a gated peep.

Even Spooky was getting in on the fun..

Bava would be proud..
