KRAMPUS 2015

My traditional Christmas cutout of Krampus is finished and on display. So far no visits from ministers, police or distraught neighbors. We've been stuck in an unending gauntlet of downpours since Thanksgiving so Krampus sits on the covered porch. Once things dry out I'll test a few other spots for maximum shadow effect against the house. You get an idea of what that might look like in a photo below with a large shadow cast late at night on the porch...

A Peek at Krampus

Been wanting to do a Krampus 'traditional" Christmas prop for some time. No idea if the neighbors are ready for this - but with the release of the new film it's probably about as pop-culture as it's going to get. So if you are a neighbor of mine - no this is not Satan or Baphomet or any "evil" religious entity. It's just the guy that's going to steal your kids of you don't put some delicious cookies on my porch on Christmas Eve!

Got a bit more detail work to do but here's a snap to hold ya over..

2015 Official Spooky Franklin Video

Here tis! In all it's murky dark glory - the 2015 Spooky Franklin video.

The Day After Halloween - Photos

The full yard haunt ran both Friday and Saturday nights as The Creeping Cruds had a pre-Halloween driveway jam (that resulted in some drunken neighbors have a wild time singing Horror Rock choruses)  on Friday. Sunday was a consolidated setup - that resulted in some interesting shots as shown in the Flickr photo album here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsko8ZTjq
Video forthcoming!

SPOOKY FRANKLIN 2015

For the fourth year in a row the weather gods spared us at the last minute. A massive system that tailed from Canada all the way to the gulf split just in time to spare Tennessee.
This year we added a lot of new colors and spread everything out to cover the entire frontage. This year's additions were a pair of corn sentinels that by accident kinda look like those creepy scarecrows from Beneath the Planet of The Apes. One photo has a foggy surprise if you can spot it.

A few photos here - but the whole lot is posted on my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jeanoroid/albums/72157660642664372

#GreatPumpkinProject

This was my short-lived, thoroughly rained-out contribution to the Great Pumpkin Project. Like an idiot I forgot my tripod for night shooting so all I procured was a couple of cellphone snaps.
Went back a second night with a new candle and tripod and someone had smashed him into 100 pieces.
This is just off the square, downtown Franklin on an always spooky no-car stretch of road.
Lots of cars pass by this at night so I suspect it probably caught a few random eyeballs during it's brief life..

Spooky 2015

Here she is.. The ghost lady that started the madness..
Ms. Spooky (as named by neighborhood kids who noticed her before we even started putting a light on her)..

The Season of The Vines

The 2015 Halloween season is officially on the clock.
The late summer creeper vine aka "Mr. Triffid" just grabbed his first victim of the year here at Spooky Franklin! So much - so soon! MaskFest is next week. The Horror Hootenanny is set! So many new items for EvilPumpkins! Fall horror movies will be watched (just as soon as that temp drops anyway).

We are open for business!
